My experience at KoKoRo was great! Along with the attentive service, the food was very tasty. My favorite was their Black Garlic Pork Ramen, but also ordered the Tonkotsu and Tonkotsu (Spicy) which were also very good. Their Chicken Karaage was tender and came with a nice sauce. One of the better ramen restaurants in The Bay.
Located in Milpitas, this charming Japanese Ramen joint may not be the ideal choice for vegetarian or vegan individuals, as suggested by others. While there is one option available for Vegetarian Ramen, it features a soy-based broth with fish powder, essentially making it a fish broth. Therefore, there is only one soup-less Maje Ramen option for vegetarians. We tried this dish and found it enjoyable, it comes at a spicy level, no need for additional spicy sauce. Standard option comes with kale noodles. However, it's worth noting that the ramen comes with a poached egg, which may not be suitable for vegetarians. If you fall into this category, be sure to request the omission of the egg. Additionally, we had the Curry Croquette, which resembled an Indian Cutlet and was undeniably delicious. It is highly recommended. We also tried the Chicken Mayo bowl (Mini Donburi), consisting of sticky rice topped with fried chicken and mayo, which was quite tasty. It would be beneficial to include more vegan and true vegetarian options on the menu to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences.
I was craving ramen and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. It looked great so made plans to go. Food: To start, we got the gyoza. Those were good. Right texture and consistency. We were tempted to order a second batch but opted to be "good". I got the Niku ramen, and my partner got the Tonkatsu ramen. The Niku was very good. It comes with a spicy pork and the charred pork under it. I really enjoyed the flavors of the broth. The noodles weren't my favorite but they were good. Can't really complain. Both pork's were delicious but the charred pork really stole the show. The tonkatsu broth was alright. We've had better. It seemed to lack flavor and punch. My partner left much of hers. I probably wouldn't order it again either. Overall, both broth were oily for our taste. Service: minimal. Got seated, hostess got our order and our food, no intermittent checkup. Atmosphere: It's a small place but wasn't busy at all when we were there. Pretty sure at most 1 other group was here at any one time with us. Overall, a decent spot. Worth the try if you're in the area. Try the gyoza if you like those!
Outstanding food . Quick service. Hot and fresh. Average noise inside. ‼‼WORTH THE PRICE 2 bowls of ramen, large chicken mayo, small chicken mayo $62‼‼ Not our first time here but we haven't been in almost 2 years and decided to come back and was NOT disappointed. I ordered the shio ramen without mushroom/egg and extra bamboo , order came as requested. My partner ordered the veggie shoyu ramen. She doesn't eat red meat so for other options she can only get this one, wish they added like chicken broth instead of pork for most of the items but its okay because its still good ! We also ordered the CHICKEN MAYO large and small! Our second favorite item other than ramen ! Chicken mayo is a must! Super super worth it . Don't leave without trying it . Side note: spice level: original is not spicy , spicy = more of a mild burn but progresses as you eat. Extra spicy is definitely EXTRA SPICY, if you are stuck between those options you can order spice on the side ! And add it slowly as you go Everything here is good . There is options for thin noodles and thick noodles. Thick noodles are the original And whoever was on aux 4/30/24 around 1:40pm was slappin! It gave Bay area vibes .
I tried their Tonkotsu Ramen with thick noodles. The pork broth was good, creamy with a slight peppery taste. Not oily. The noodles had good texture, chewy, not overcooked. It came with 2 good sized slices of chashu pork. Half of the pork slice was soft and the other half was leaner. The chicken Karaage had a light batter. I appreciate the bigger pieces of Karaage. They used dark meat. The Karaage was moist inside and crispy outside. Not overly seasoned. The dip was similar to tartar sauce; it's mayo with some relish. Went early Friday evening and waited 10 minutes. The restaurant is pretty small but service was fast and staff were friendly and welcoming.
Went here on a Monday night and we were seated immediately. The place is small. So, I'm glad we got there when it's not busy. We tried the small Chicken Mayo and it's a good size for two people. My BF and I got the Black Garlic Pork Ramen. I got the spicy and wish I got the extra spicy instead because FOR ME (spicy lover) is not that spicy. But, for people that does not like spicy, this has a kick. This flavor is their best bowl, its unique approach to a traditional dish pleases your pallet. We are very well satisfied. They used amazing ingredients and made it to order. Finally another ramen place I can go to when I need my ramen cravings fix!!
I got the spicy shio ramen and takoyaki (takoyaki not pictured). The takoyaki was really good, piping hot, and just the right texture. The ramen was tasty and flavorful and they gave a good amount of food. Not too big of a space so there is a bit of a wait but they are pretty efficient with getting people in and out.
In a mall near the hustle and bustle of Milpitas' Asian district, you'll find this small little shop, completely overshadowed by its new fad neighbor and bright interiors of dessert vendors. This shop is none other than Kokoro Ramen. With traditional-looking wooden walls, furniture, and decorations, you'll be brought into a world where old fashioned Japanese ramen dishes get served up in a new-age style. With vibrant colors popping out in each dish, your eyes and stomach will light up in anticipation for the meal to come. Parking can get competitive but it's a huge lot so you'll find a spot if you're patient and willing to walk a bit. As you enter the quaint little shop, you'll be seated by welcoming staff members. For parties larger than 8, you may need to consider breaking up into groups or wait a bit for large tables to open up. Typical party size seems to be about four or fewer people. When handed the menu, you'll appreciate its simplicity. Appetizers, ramen, and donburi - take your pick, they're all quite tasty. Takoyaki - piping hot, meaty, and tasty interior with a crispy exterior and drizzled with delicious but not too overly heavy sauces. Comes with five per order. Karage - big, crispy, moist and tenders pieces paired well with their house tartar sauce. Black garlic - a good portion of ramen and flavorful toppings. The soup was a bit salty for me; saltier than what I've had with other black garlic ramen. Kids ramen - a good portion and has a bit of everything. Chashu don - good portion of tender pieces of chashu on top of a mountain of white rice. Great value! Overall, the service and food quality are fair for the price relative to location. It's a decent ramen shop, although not the best and unfortunately, not a standout for me. Their appetizers are solid and ramen/don are filling. A plus side is that right next door, you can top off with some yummy desserts!
Been wanting to try this place so many times since I moved to the area. Timing didn't work out, but it did that day! I didn't realize how small it is inside. But when I entered it wasn't packed yet. It was a party for three. The host/waitress was nice and sat us down. We ordered the black garlic ramen and my friend ordered tonkatsu ramen with all the fillings on the side. For my daughter she got the potstickers and chicken karrage. I'm giving it a 4/5 stars because there was a hair in my food. It was like from the head so I didn't want to make a big fuss of it. The food was good, the flavor etc. our waitress she kept refilling the water all the time which was nice. I would def come back here again.
